Twelve Years of Scrobbles: How an Old Last.fm Account Brought Back My Past
Long time without any content here, but now it is time to write something. In June I moved to Indonesia, lived in Bali, visited Jakarta, and now, since October, I have settled in Bangkok, a noisy, huge metropolis.
A month ago, I finally launched Fullyst! It took a long time to finish this project, and now it will take even longer to promote it :)
After this chaotic introduction, let us get to the main topic.
Today I found my old last.fm account with a scrobbling history that goes back to May 2010. It is wild. Twelve years ago I was so young and so silly back then. But this old last.fm account gave me an intense rush of nostalgia, and it is the first time I have felt anything like that. It also helped me see how important our past really is.
I was scrolling through my old scrobbles and reliving those months and years:
* With these tracks I started building my first website. It was about anime, and yup, that is true 😊
* With this album I discovered a new genre and partly changed my taste in music.
* I listened to this album when I first started living away from my parents.
* This musician was my favorite when I moved to Saint Petersburg, and so on.
I remembered not only what I was doing, but also the people who helped me year after year and those who were simply there with me.
And all I want to say now is: thank you all.
