Why I Finally Left Chrome After 16 Years
I could write about my new position as Head of Infrastructure, but instead… Well, I will write about it.
Just over two weeks ago, I got promoted and now I am the Head of Infrastructure, managing a large infrastructure and a big team of over 30 amazing DevOps engineers.
It is an interesting challenge, especially since I also need to keep up with Improvy OÜ. But in reality, this role teaches me a lot, and I will be able to apply this knowledge to my own company.
But initially, I wanted to write this post to share something else.
Since 2008, when I first started using the internet, I have been using Google Chrome. No matter how many times I tried to switch to other browsers, I could not, because Chrome felt native, convenient, and familiar.
Yesterday everything changed, and I switched to a recently launched browser called Arc. It is based on Chromium, but its interface is fundamentally different from Google Chrome. It features separate workspaces, favorite sites (which is really cool), and free AI features. It is fully compatible with Google Chrome and even offers more convenient development tools.
It is one of the few products that made me think: 'If this ever becomes paid, I would be willing to pay for it.'
So I highly recommend at least giving it a try: https://arc.net/gift/2b43ddca (referral link; after your registration, I will get the ability to set a custom browser icon 🎩). And here is the regular link: https://arc.net
