Taming Digital Chaos: How I’m Rebuilding My Browser, Calendar, and Workflows
To be honest, last Friday I decided to write a new post here every Friday to bring some order to these chaotic days. So, here it is.
This week was all about order and dealing with entropy in the future.
• As I mentioned earlier, I switched to a new browser, Arc. You simply cannot use this browser with hundreds of open tabs. Before moving to Arc, my Google Chrome had 216 open tabs. Now my new browser has just four active spaces ('Personal', 'Improvy OÜ', and two work spaces) with a maximum of six active tabs in each space. It turned out to be very useful and convenient.
• I also started using Google Calendar at 99%. Every daily plan, meeting, and activity now has its place on the calendar. I finally switched my work calendar to 'speedy meetings', which ends 30‑minute meetings 5 minutes early and longer meetings 10 minutes early. Altogether it saves me 3 to 6 hours per week.
• Two big tasks are still waiting for me: organizing all my bookmarks (I currently have 835 bookmarks collected since 2012, with at least 50% in an 'Unsorted' folder) and getting used to Notion with templates and other features.
